I was having lots of chest pain and discomfort last night and after speaking to a lovely cardiac nurse from the bhf, I took her advice and went to a&e to get checked out.
I got there at 7.30pm andgot out at 5.00am this morning so im tired today.
I had a chest xray, 2 separate blood tests and 2 ecgs & everything is fine.
I am reassured but still have the dull ache in my chest.
This is all so frustrating as i can feel it, it is there but on tests it is nothing. I feel like i am going crazy!!!
Well, what I wanted to ask is, how often do you see your heart failure nurse. I was told on diagnosis it will be regular thing but i was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy a month and a half ago and all i have is 1 appointment in October.
The dr last night said thats not right and has asked for me to be seen sooner.
I hate feeling unwell of a weekend when i give all my energy to work all week, grrrrrr!
Natchid with the chest pain had you done any heavy exercise or previous two or three days before. ? Recently my friend had chest pain then realised he had been cutting logs and doing heavy gardening days previously ! Muscle ache takes a few days to announce itself . It can also be brought on by stress and of course having chest pain is stressful but sometimes that a circle. You seem to have had a good and thorough check so thats a good step forward. Good luck .
Natchid, that sounds like a long wait to me. I was diagnosed with heart failure in April and was given an appointment with the GP two weeks after being discharged from hospital. I had already had two phone calls from the Heart Failure nurse by then and have since seen the cardiologist, worn an 24 ecg monitor and had an echocardiogram. I am now waiting for an mri to see what caused the heart failure and am seeing the heart failure nurse tomorrow. Do ring your nurse if you are worried.
