Don’t want to be negative but ....

I had my stent fitted just after Easter this year (6 weeks ago) I have been in constant pain and breathless when doing almost anything normal. I went back to the hospital 7 days after the stent and told it was trauma and bruising. Ten days later I was seen by the BHF rehab team who were very concerned about my pain and breathing.. sent me to GP for a review of my meds and bloods. The man from the rehab team contacted my consultant who couldn’t see me for another 3 weeks. So I had a change to my meds with no change to my symptoms.

I then went to Oxford JR as I was visiting a friend and she was concerned as I couldn’t even walk up her stairs. They put me on another medication and another of my meds was increased... They also sent a report to my consultant and told me to do nothing until I see him.

Iv been back to my GP for another medication review and chat. He took my blood pressure which was very low, this is unusual for me as I’m normally normal what ever that is. Bloods are normal

Roll on next week when I see the consultant and hopefully either book me in for another stent ( which is what they originally were going to do, fit 2 ) or find out what is going on.

Thank you to the BHF rehab team who told me that ‘No it isn’t right that you feel this bad’ as everyone else was telling me that everyone heals at different rates.

Hopefully they’ll get to the bottom of it this time and get you under control!

I'm glad that I just read your post . I had an emergency stent )and a heart attack) a few weeks ago. I was sent home with pain in my chest. A few days later I was back in hospital. My blood results were not good. A few days later things settled down after some meds. I was told that I had an 'episode ' and trauma . But they did not tell me what that meant!

I sometimes have chest pain and like you I have breathlessness . I thought the same as you that everyone heals differently . Also my stent was on the LAD. What about you?

I am due to see my GP on Monday . My first appointment since my stent and heart attack.

I really want to get onto the Cardio Rehab programme but they are not responding to me !

Hi my stent was Mid LAD. I didn’t have a heart attack but had an angiogram as my angina was getting increasingly worse.

Hope you get the answers you want from your GP. Mine have been great but only so much they can do.

Thanks for your reply ! So you had an LAD too ! I wasn't 100% sure , but I thought that everyone who had a blockage , had, had , a heart attack. So I was wrong ! ( Unless it depends on the severity of the blockage ? My LAD was severe)

My GP quickly went through the meds that the hospital had given me and said she'd ask my consultant for a follow up appointment . But that's all that happened! She's very nice but I felt a bit rushed by her, so I didn't get a chance to tell her about my breathlessness! Lol! The nurse checked my BP !

You're very lucky that you have a great GP !

Hi You should not be breathless go back to your GP and call the BHF cardiac rehab team they were fantastic. They were the first ones to say that something was wrong . I still call them now for advice and they even call my consultant with their concerns. If you have private medical insurance they also have a dedicated heart team 24 hrs a day.

Hope this helps
