Difficulty in getting diagnosis

Hi, I have a strong family history of heart disease on both sides, and have myself had high blood pressure for over ten years. I am nearly forty and last autumn I was admitted to hospital following chest pain and fainting. Long and short of it is that I am still symptomatic and have an abnormal ECG. My consultant has said that the ECG is a 'cardiomyopathic' reading, but is reluctant to diagnose it as the other tests were normal. The problem I have is that I am still very poorly at times and worried. Any suggestions? and have other people found this with this illness?

Have you seen your GP about your issues post cardiologist? I know there is supposed to be some screening of 'at risk' patients but was told this takes effect at 50. Do you take any meds for your blood pressure/cardiomyopathy?

Thanks. I am currently taking med's for high blood pressure and I am still being monitored. I was just wondering if other people had experienced a borderline diagnosis and how they managed.
