I'm new hear and feeling really crap, pericarditis recurring again

Hey all, first post here, looking for support.

Been diagnosed last year with pericarditis, it surged up again in December, and is surging now. I feel really, really terrible about it because I have had to call in sick to work, when I know that they are not only short staffed, but that I am out of sick time to take. I am anxious that I might end up losing my job over something I can't control - although I am on the Colchichine and Naproxen the doctor has given me.

Some days with it, I can't even walk without feeling anxious and dizzy. Has anyone else had similar experiences mentally with pericarditis, and if so are you able to provide any support?

Hi there

Welcome to the forum sorry to hear of your issues, there is some information on the BHF website bhf.org.uk/heart-health/con..., whichmay be of some use.

With your work, what have they said to you thus far? Have you seen your GP and been signed off again?

Mark

I have not yet been signed off again, and work have thus far been sympathetic, but I fear there might only be so far they can stretch.

I can't help with your diagnosis or symptoms, but I do know that you should put yourself first. Your health is paramount. Surely work can't be that unsympathetic! If they are they don't deserve you.

Take care

Margaret

Work have been good in the past, but it might just be my head demons worrying that there is only so much they can stretch before their hands are forced
