Swollen Lymph glands - effect on heart

My wife has secondary stage 4 cancer (had chemo and about to restart) with swollen lymph glands round neck and elsewhere. She has had breathlessness but also her blood pressure drops and feels sick...this happened when she went to have (before having) blood test and last night in the ensuite.

My question is, could swollen glands near/against the heart be the cause of loss of blood pressure and possibly breathlessness? (though she has been relieved a bit by an inhaler) Though she has had scans we dont seem to get told much about what they can see of glands apart from the neck area which we can see. We do have a BP monitor at home and check it, but its whats causing the drops.

Hi Cavair

So sorry to hear about your wife.

There are many causes of a low blood pressure, and as this is probably related to your wife's diagnosis this wouldn't be the area of our expertise.

If she has a specific cancer diagnosis you could search Health Unlocked for a forum on that type of cancer, or try Macmillan on community.macmillan.org.uk/

If you don't get the answers you need from either of these options you can contact your wife's cancer nurse specialist, GP or cancer team. It may be beneficial for them to have the recordings of her blood pressure, so it may be helpful to write the readings down.

I really hope her treatment is successful, wishing you the best of luck.

Ashleigh
