Just a suggestion but it could be useful to have the regular questions saved as "stickies" at the top of the forum posts for quick access to common queries, such as travel insurance etc.
Not sure if the forum techies could set something up. Just a thought.

Hi Marc68 - that is a good idea! HealthUnlocked doesn't have a Sticky function, but it does let us pin threads to the top of the community - we've got a few on the right-hand side at the moment (one about travel insurance!)
I've seen the pinned posts but it seems that newcomers to the site don't see them. Since that pinned insurance thread there have been several asking the same question.
Another thing that might be worth considering is to keep active threads at the top. At the moment if someone posts on a thread there's no easy way to know it's happened unless you can remember how many replies each thread had at your last visit, which is virtually impossible.
Of course, I don't know the constraints your team are under so I'll leave it with you. Either way, thanks for providing a forum for us, it's very much appreciated. There would be a lot of lost people, me included, if it wasn't here.
When I joined this forum, I used to check in a couple of times a day. This waned rapidly as I kept seeing many similar questions particularly related to insurance. Having belonged to many forums (both professionally and interest/hobby related) I have a few thoughts. I am not in favour of too many stickies as they can become irritating. One forum I belonged to kept adding to the stickies to the point the first page had more stickies than posts. The best forums have an intermediate level which here could be “Medication”, “Surgery”, “Benefits (including Blue Badges)”, etc. Also in this age of immediate response and short attention span many individuals seem incapable of using the “Search” function. On one forum I belong to this gets short shrift but it is not something I would advocate when dealing with people with health issues!
Thanks MichaelJH, that's also really good for us to keep in mind. Of course we're working to the limitations of HealthUnlocked, but it's a really great home for the community and they're always looking for ways to make improvements to the system. I'll pass that on!
I have worked in IT for many years (p/t currently) mainly on complex mathematical modelling and databases. If it is of help I am more than happy to liase with you and/or HealthUnlocked.
Thanks for the good ideas, I have passed them onto a group of other HealthUnlocked admins as well as HealthUnlocked to see what they can do. Any and all ideas are welcome, if you can tag your ideas with the topic "suggestions for BHF" we can keep track of them easier. Thanks again!
Hi Syrus. They were just a couple of simple things that might make the forum a bit more user friendly. I can't figure out how to tag the existing posts. Is there a way?
As posted to Jo above, thank you for providing the forum.
