Yes is the answer. A consultant in the heart unit told me that when I was readmitted a couple of weeks after my heart attack.
She said it was a good idea to keep a ECG reading documented for paramedics & A&E, incase I was readmitted again so they know about previous MI and can compare new ECGs.
However, now I have had a bypass, I am not sure what would show up now. Yet another query for my poor Gp when I see her next, lol! 😁
Short answer yes, I had an MI in 1982 and in 1998 had a medical for a job and the Nurse asked straight away had I had an MI. I didn't put it down on the question sheet for the Medical so Yes they can see it. Also ECG last month picked it up as possible past MI !!!

yes it does but I only found out that they do after calling out the paramedics after having chest pains and did one in the house then i was informed it will allways show up
Another one for my Gp?
I may be wrong of course, but I recon what it may be. Is the peaks that would stand out on future ECGs. Are actually showing the damage if any, that was caused to the heart muscle by that past event. Mmmm?
