Breathlessness and fast heart
I know stating the obvious- but go and get yourself seen by a specialist ( start with your GP) and put your mind at rest . I can imagine you are nervous ( I have had a HA and 5stents at 42, so I know)- but however you look at it, whatever the diagnosis, you will at least then know and then can be on the path to recovery. It might be a virus, it might not be caused by your heart- but it might be something that needs further intervention (medicine or op) ; but better intervention than worrying yourself indefinitely and not knowing and then possibly having more serious problems in the future. Go see your GP today. Best wishes and let us know how you get on. David.
Definitely agree with the responses so far - make an appointment with your GP today! If cycling a bit slower doesn't help then give up cycling for a few weeks until you have an idea what is happening. Pushing yourself to a heart attack would be, to be blunt, stupid!
I was putting out chairs at last Year's village Remembrance Sunday service. I was huffing and a puffing and thought it was odd. That night I was watching '999 what's your emergency?'. The programme focused on this bloke who like me suffered from Asthma. He was sat at the bottom of his stairs struggling to breath. They followed him into hospital and it turned out he had a heart condition and unfortunately died. I looked at my Wife and next day called my doctor. He put me on an ECG and discovered I had a T-Wave inversion (irregular beat). Was fast tracked to hospital and they discovered I have HOCM. Without watching that programme I would not have made the call to get checked out. I would say getting yourself checked out is very important.
Thank you I go go see my GP NEville in Plymouth Devon
