When you get a cardiac MRI they will place a portable ecg monitor on your chest and you will receive the contrast dye I was in for about 40 minutes and I was totally exhausted so take someone with you to take you home ... ♥️ Gillian

I didn’t have any sedation as I’m not claustrophobic ... It’s a cardiac MRI stress test that’s what I had after third HA at the Golden Jubilee ... ♥️

Hi Del, they will administer a drug which will imitate activity causing your heart to beat faster. The MRI it aside from being terribly noisy is usually ok. You may well feel fatigue post the test as the adrenaline in your body will tire you.

good luck Mark

Hello Del , Merry Christmas, it's not the most pleasant of experiences . Mainly is just the time it takes ,sometimes at least 2 hours , however the results for you cardio team are well worth it. Hang in there.

Hi Del the stress MRI is a little more involved than a straight MRI. It was v useful in my case as it mimicked my heart being under stress. They inject the stress drug in one arm, then take the pics and then inject the antidote in the other arm. For me it felt very like my usual angina, only a bit more sudden.

This bit is pretty quick, but I, too, found it v tiring and was a bit washed out afterwards.

I hope it goes fine for you. The inf. was v valuable in my case. Hope I havent put you off. Better to be well prepared?

So pleased it went well. Now for the benefits... your Dr will have good inf, to make plans, and a baseline to check against.

Good luck!

i have been told I'm going for a stress MRI scan. the consultant told me if the first scan showed an issue they would re-do the scan there and then but if all was ok they would send me home after the first one. I'm not looking forward to it at all in some respects but hopefully it will provide some answers...
