heart question
Hi there, I assume you mean 2007, have you spoken to your GP or cardiologist at all ? Are you feeling ill or have symptoms?
Hi Zeik, just for reassurance. I had my triple bypass in 2012. Amongst those on the ward & in rehab classes, most had been told the new bits would last a good 20-25 years. I expect, like me, you may be solely monitored by your GP, but do speak to them if you are anxious. Take care.
When I told them at work that I needed a bypass a colleague mentioned that his father had had one in his fifties over 30 years ago. Apparently he is still quite bright and reasonably active for his age. Main points are eat healthily, don't smoke and stay positive
My uncle had a triple bypass 25 years ago aged 60 and we only lost him this year to an unrelated matter. So its fair to say that if you look after yourself, you have many more years to go. Hope that helps
Had a quadruple bypass in 2015 (aged 55) ) and was told I should be good for another 20 to 30 years. Of course this will depend on life style but I walk at least 5 miles a day and eat a far healthier diet, probably have not been this fit since I was in my twenties!
As the consultant said to me after surgery "now it's over to you"
