Six stents

Hi guys I had six stents fitted four years ago and everything went absolutely fine. I suffered depression before this but continued to work hard as a coach driver up until 3 months ago when my wife left me.

Things rapidly went downhill with me and I started to feel even lower and drinking alcohol.

My prescribed tablets are that off aspirin. Bisoprolol. Perendopril. Monomil.atorvorstatin.and citolapram.

I moved away from my area and now suddenly I'm suffering with anxiety. Depression.out of breath very quickly and pain in my chest.

I've been to the doctor and was signed of work for the foreseeable.

I kind of feel like I give up.

I cant sleep more than a hour at night and retire to the bed mid afternoon..

Does anyone on here live in Abertillery (GWENT) that could help me to feel my normal self again please.

I am a 44 year male with no hope.

Many thanks

Hi Scotty

welcome to the forum. Depression is an issue for many post heart problems. So you are not alone in that, what you do need is some counselling and pretty quickly.

Get yourself to your GP, you will get a referral and hopefully the help you need, I suffer to and took far to long to recognise it but am now having counselling. Youve come this far, you recognise it lets get you some help

you can always come on here, rant and rave, tell us how you feel. You will get replies, at all sorts of times, we are a friendly bunch, we can try and get that little hope light fixed

hope that helps a little

Mark

hello Scotty...sorry to hear you are suffering in this way.......skid is so right about asking for and getting help with the depression, especially from your GP.

Depression......none of us REALLY understand what it is, or how we have been drawn into its grasp, but I am sure that the majority of us have suffered its debilitating effect at some point in our lives. And it appears to be one of the hardest illnesses to be rescued from.

But, believe me when I say there is help where you are, and there are remedies.

Believe in yourself Scotty....we believe in you.....I know you will get through this, but need some professional help first, OK.

As skid says, do stay in touch on the forum....its a positive.

take care

Hi Scotty, a marriage breakup is so distressing, it happened to one of my Sons. l think talking to mates might be a good start do you have family in your old area? lf so maybe you could pop back and chat to them. There is always help, ring the Samaritans you don`t have to be suicidal to talk to them, they listen and advise so well. Take care, Sue x

Unfortunately I'm all alone now.

My family are back south and remarkably busy with their own lives.

I do have a girlfriend that is trying to understand me but I fear every thing has just gone bad to worse(can that happen)

I have always had a positive mind and kind of stick my fingers up at the world.

Im in so much debt and feel so low.

But thanks for the advice

hi scotty...you have so much to deal with! But have faith, as there is help out there for all that the things you are suffering.

The GP will listen and understand what help you need so please make the appointment.

The CAB will also advise and help find a solution to your debt problems. They know all too well the debts that so many are having to deal with. I believe making moves to get solutions for your debts will help enormously with your anxiety and sleep pattern.

you have taken the first step by writing it on here.....so keep going...it will get better.

Thats brilliant Scotty. You have now taken the first big steps to sorting your life out. I believe when you start to talk and open up and see what help and guidance is out there that weight on your shoulders will start to feel lighter . Don’t give up now even if you have a few bad days . Can I make a suggestion when you see your Doctor tomorrow in case you get nervous why don’t you print or show him your post for him to read or write a list of what you want to say. Keep in touch and well done Kaz❤️❣️💕

Thats a remarkable idea.

I decided today that I have had enough and need to go work to help in my aid of recovery.

Rang an employer today and explained things.

I have an interview tomorrow.

Im so sick off worrying and failing deeper into this flipping trap.

This site is absolutely ace.

Thankyou

Welcome, Scotty. Sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time. As the others have said, most of us on this forum have had to deal with depression at some point and can empathise with the way you are feeling. I agree that you should speak to your GP as soon as possible about getting some treatment/support in place. Mark is right when he says there are always people on this forum to read and respond to posts, so do keep in touch with us all. Hope things start to feel easier soon. Lots of love x

Hi Scotty01 life’s a bitch sometimes, and she’s certainly given you more than your fair share. I had AVR 16 weeks ago and have depression, the cardio team at my rehab have also said it could be more like Post Traumatic Stress which is from a build up of events over past years and the operation and trauma your body and emotions experience brings it all too the fore. They gave me details of NHS service called steps2wellbeing, you can go on line and self referral or your GP can do it for you. I have my 1st appointment with them on Thursday which is a1hr telephone to a assess then you go to your nearest centre. They seem to cover most areas in the U.K. I would say that with everything you’ve been through you’ve more likely to have Post Traumatic Stress too, Please Please go and get help Im sure the BHF can advise you and point you in the right direction, there are links and information on this site. You are young and have so much ahead of you, even if at the moment you don’t see it that way. I feel that once you start getting the help you deserve life will become optimistic again. The folk on here are very helpful and supportive, so even if you want too shout and rant feel free. Now go and seek help. Kaz ❤️❣️💕

Hi kazsumm

I thought ptsd was something only our Comrades suffered with.

That opened my eyes incredibly but then I still have that inbuilt fear to talk to a doc.

I know they have probably seen and heard everything but I feel I have more to lose so perhaps all is not lost x

Hi Scotty ~ it might be a good idea to ask the Dr to review the citalopram. (I am not a Dr or anything but was on it too.)

I think you are brilliant for deciding to tackle how things are.

Hi scotty, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time, I feel along with everything else debt can be a terrible thing to pull you down, I have been panicking myself about money as I was on half pay but now that has stopped, it's such a worry along with everything else, so I fully understand, do you have an advice centre run by the council, or citizen advice , they can help to contact people that you owe money to, and try to sort things out with payments that are manageable for you, they will also give excellent advice on contacting the dwp and filling out any forms, they could be help there that you are intiled to but are not claiming for, mabe one little thing like getting advice about debts might just lift a bit of the dreaded black cloud and help you to get on the road for the next small step, all of us on here no what it is like, and if we can't offer any practical advice we are here to listen, take care char xx
