Anxiety , I need and answer ?
Yes you can.
Listen, I of course don't know how old you are? But the fact is the doctors have looked at you and said you are fine.
So the worst thing you could do now is invent and create something that isn't really there.
If you hadn't have been checked, then of course it would be advisable to get an MOT. But you have heen checked and all is fine.
Why has your grandma suddenly enlightened you with this information?
The fact is you knew nothing about it. Therefore I am guessing you had no symptoms to speak of.
The trouble is now that you can create false symptoms in your mind that could seem and feel very real.
Anxiety can cause palpations and of course what seems like heart simptons that can feel very real.
This is what you are in danger of, (Anxiety) not heart issues.
If you really are worried about the possibilities, then you should get a second opinion.
But from what I can tell from most consultants, they would know if you had any issues. So the fact that they say all is a ok, you should believe on them
My advice, if you ever have anything you can't explain or you are unsure of. Breathing, pain etc. Then make notes.
Make notes, take copies. Send them to heart consultants and take them to your GP.
Bless you, I recon you are just fine. You just need to realise all these years you didn't know, you have been just fine. So why should it be any different now.
I know you are scared, but it sounds like you hace absolutely no reason to be frightened.
Good luck on getting to the facts. Take care now, Jo 😊
Hi there - as you might already know, the ductus arteriosus (the duct) is part of the circulation you have when you're in the womb. Because you get all the oxygen you need from your mum, your lungs aren't used until you're born so we need connections like the duct to help bypass them.
Usually the duct closes by itself after you're born, but for some people it stays open. If you had yours fixed as a baby then there's no reason to think there's been any long lasting damage to your heart, or any higher risk for the future.
I hope this helps,
Chris
