My mum had a heart attack last November only symptoms she had was what she thought was indigestion for months. Triple heart bypass December ever since then she has suffered with breathlessness and tiredness. Took ages to get referred back to cardiology months of tests and cardiologist thought was her medication. Had a ct angiogram and found two blockages last month had angiogram and two stents. Still no improvement still breathless and tiredness been told by cardiac rehab to make gp appointment which she is going today. Cant see what they will do just feel like a ongoing merry go round. Has anybody else been through this? Only change to her medication is cardiologist has took her off frusomide.

It could be her other meds as well, what does she take, Bisoprolol or a similar beta blocker may have this effect. Also, when she had the surgery she should have been told after to do some breathing exercises to help as the lungs are usually deflated and these exercises should help to get them back to capacity.
I would also agree with the going to the GP, you could also try the BHF helpline, they will be able to offer advice, 0300 330 3311.
Yes on that beta blocker think its so disheartening for her to have gone through the major operation to be told it wasnt a success. She feels worse now than before her heart attack.
Apologies, I didn't read correctly that there were stents post the bypass, I assume the stents were placed in the new bypass, it may take a little longer to feel better as even though they have been stented they still need time to bed in. What is her GP like? I know some are better than others, but she should be having a chat about medication and options going forwards, as you say a major op and seemingly no improvement she should get some answers as to what is going on
I had 4 CABGs before stents were in wide use. I recommend that you watch the film "Forks Over Knives". It is on Netflix and YouTube. It is about global medical heart research and the findings, including a massive study of 800,000 Chinese people. You might find it helpful, I did.
I have been on a Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) diet since March and the evidence of my blood pressure (117/70), cholesterol (2.7) and pulse (50-60) indicate that my arteries are cleared. So, it has taken only 6 months. My doctor is gradually taking me off all the meds.
Good Luck for when you see your GP! If you take your list and ask the questions they will treat you better. It shows that you are taking an interest as opposed to merely popping the pills.
Well been to doctots and got sent to hospital for a scan and found a infection on lung. The gp who she saw said her chest was clear but had sent her to be sure.
