I have always livewd with heart problems all my life, had open heart surgery when I was 25, youngest on the ward! But I only found out recently that my heart rate is fast due to the operation, it feels as if my local hospital has hid this from me as they NEVER put me on heart rate tablets & was only on blood thinners for a short while, I have lived the past 13 yrs a lie to do with my heart

What effect has this had on you and your health?

It has affected my job as have to take things slower as get out of breath easy. They still won't put me on tablets as don't see it as a problem. To be honest it has left me with little faith in the NHS

Yes, I'm also interested on how this has effected your life.

Can only go on own experiences, but I have been put on beta blockers, taken off them a year later. Then had to go back on them again couple of weeks after bypass.

My heart rate keeps changing. One minute I'm told I have fast heart rate, then slow, then fast.

So I'm just wondering, is it fact that it is due to operation that your heart beats faster & you should have been iinformed.

Or is it like my heart, it just changes it's mind over the years?......

That's what the consultant said, it's 105 @ least, but was always told that my ECG's were fine, but yet in a letter, it said it had been noted it was fst over several of them!

You can't make this up! My 24 hrs heart monitoring back in Feb was fine, but the one recently was completely different:sinus tachycardia, a left anterior fascicular block, leak & murmur plus the QTc is prolonged @ 475, why have they lied to me all this time?

Things are going from bad to worse, the Cardiologist WON'T accept what the Neurologist found & is now blaming my job, which it ain't, coming to an end of a 7 days heart monitor & to be perfectly honest, expecting him to say the opposite to what the Neurologist said, it's like they don't wanna help me

Latest update is that the consultant didn't look @ the 7 days heart monitor that I had done in depth like the Neurologist did (see 2 comments above), but the next day had an appointment for the 18th of this mnth seeing 1 of the top2 Cardiologists @ the hospital, what is going on?

Weirdly the hairs are going from my legs, went to the appointment on the 18th Jan & then FINALLY admitted that I've got a fast heart rate, but don't wanna see me for 2 yrs
