Update on GP visit re: Tachycardia

I posted on here a few weeks ago about my tachycardia. My heart rate was above 100 while resting usually 115 bpm or less but above 100.

Saw my GP the other day and he took my blood pressure and pulse rate and has prescribed me with Bisoprolol Fumarate 1.25 mg.

I take it at 8:30 am every morning and now my heart rate is almost always below 100 whilst resting and only goes over that if I'm walking. Even if I'm standing and pacing around its below 100.

At the moment I'm sitting at my desk and its 85 bpm. Only been taking it three days and have already noticed a massive difference.

I'm now mostly in the safe 60 to 100 bpm range whilst resting, if I'm feeling anxious it gets closer to 100 bpm but that's not often.

I reckon its knocked 15 to 20 bpm off my heart rate. I'm really pleased.

Aw so happy you noticing a difference already 😊😁.

Dear You

Very pleased that such a low dose has had that effect for you and that you are feeling better for it.

It must certainly help with the worry over your tachycardia.

Long may it last, great news thank you.

Take care

Yes I just hope it lasts. I was prescribed Propranolol 10mg a few years ago but it wasn't as effective as this.

Hi tachycardia23

I’m glad to hear you’re seeing a difference in your heart rate with the medication. It must be a relief now that you have some sort of treatment plan in place.

Let us know how you get on.

All the best.

Same here - I am responding to Bisoprolol 1.25mg - heart rate is now 70 - 80bpm instead of around 100bpm. Certainly feels better!!

Mines about 90 or just under whilst sitting down. Standing and pacing about between 90 to 100. Getting Sinus Rhythm mostly when doing an ECG on my Apple Watch.

I've noticed, if I'm inactive and laying down its often between 70 and 80 but if I'm active standing up then sitting down again its often about 90 or just under whilst sitting.
