my psoriasis cleared up in my worst area for a while. Suddenly in a couple of days it’s appeared n spread again. I don’t understand why that’s happened. One thing crossed my mind is my methotrexate injections-I stopped taking them for several weeks. Could that be the cause?

yes, stopping biologics is not a very good thing to do not only can stopping cause your psoriasis to flare or spread but you can also develop psoriatic arthritis which you don’t want if your not suffering with joint issues….. I did this 6 years ago stopped Stelara for a surgery I was having because doctors said stop Stelara and that was the worse decision of my life I have spent 6 years in a psoriatic arthritis flare that destroyed my body.
Get back to your Dermatologist or Rheumatologist and start back on medication if you can …. Why did you stop your medication in the first place? Psoriasis don’t go away ever they occasionally go into remission but they are always lurking.
hi I stopped because my injections stopped arriving. Ur to missing a couple of hospital appointments. My fault. But all sorted now and got my jabs. Took my first one last night. Hope they start clearly long the psoriasis
I used methotrexate in tablet form for some ten years and like you found a flare up if I stopped taking it for more. than about two weeks.
In passing I came off of it as its efficacy reduced abd a very small fibrosis was diagnosed ( there are conflicting opinions about any link.
However I was transferred to Skyrizi, a biologic , and was totally clear within 4 weeks other than small places on my scalp. May I suggest you discuss the possible side effects of methotrexate and consider biologics ( purely based on my own experience). I hope this helps.
