I started Humira for three months last year and stopped due to two urinary track infections. The Rheumatologist said no infections when on it. I had been on Otezla for a year, and also stopped due to stomach upset. Using biologics effectively and finding the right match is still very new to me.
I have two questions:
1. Has anyone had other success with other biologics with less side effects?
2. Does anyone have experience with infection management and keeping immune system strong while using biologics?
I would like to try a biologic again as I am quite sore all over my body from the PSA, have moderate osteoarthritis in my hip, and have to keep working out due to osteoporosis.

Hi my darling that’s rotten that you’re having problems with Urinary Tract infections! I’m on Amgevita but it’s brand name is Humira. There’s quite a few Biologics out there so keep trying. You don’t want to end up with really damaged joints! Please speak to your Rheumatologist about trying another one! I hope you get on okay. Sending hugs and love 😍🙏🏻🍀❤️😘xx
Hi there ! Sorry to hear you are feeling sore and have been through the mill!I have been on the usual before the biologics (methotrexate, sulfasalzine) I was put on Benepali had no side effects and that worked wonders for me for about 4 years, then came my second child and it seemed to just become less effective so recently I have been put on Cosentyx I'm currently on my 4th loading dose and just waiting to see some kind of effect but can take up to 4 months apparently.
I find sticking to a Mediterranean diet has helped me but as we all do you forget that and old naughty eating habits creep back in !
I find it's very hard to keep your immune system up due to the nature of the biologics but I'd definitely ask around on here if anyone else has had any success. Hope you manage to get the right treatment for you and find some relief soon. 😊
