Hi folks, apologies in advance for yucky details , I'm on here asking if anyone has a remedy for scalp issues - prickly itch, worsening dandruff, some hard bumpy skin. I use Head and Shoulders shampoo and it used to keep things under control. In the last couple of months I'm suspecting something has changed in the shampoo as symptoms are worsening. I've been taking Kefir/Udo's8/Yakult for severe psoriasis flare up on both of my lower legs and have had a great outcome from that combination - almost fully cleared up large red patches of scaling. If anyone has suggestions for the scalp symptoms, I would be very grateful.
Kind regards to all,
Tom C.

T-gel extra strength 4% coal tar shampoo ... NOT the T-Sal one which burns like mad if you have broken skin.
I use the the 4% T-gel extra strength works well for me.
Hi Tomcard,
I haven't popped into HU for awhile and just joined this psoriasis forum-I hope you have found a successful way to help, and I thought I'd chip in on your question as well. I have had severe psoriasis on and off for a lifetime! The most effective method I used to clear my scalp was on a trip to Key West in Florida. I had my hair done in 100 small braids and my scalp was able to get some sun. I was careful with time limit, but I was clear after a week's vacation-No sure if you can do this?!
Thanks for you reply LSH. I don't think the fashion police in my family would let me away with that braided look! Also, whatever type my psoriasis is - it doesn't respond to sunlight treatment in any way. The most effective treatments have been Kefir and Yakult - and when I ease of those for a week or two the psoriasis returns. I think that indicates my microbiome (gut bacteria) as being heavily implicated - and for many years I had a lot of anti-biotics so I suspect tat has been contributory. But thanks for taking the time to reply.
