I would see a dermatologist first. I have had psoriasis for over 55 years. My doctors have given me low doses of corticosteroids such as ointments, creams and lotions. You can get Dovenex or coal tar treatments. If these treatments don't help you can ask your doctor about pills or shots. Make sure to see your doctor first before you make any decisions.

I was given 1% cortisone cream which worked brilliantly and I am allowed to use sparingly as and when. You can also buy it from a Boots. I’m in the UK not sure where you are.
