Hi, Since last December, things have not gone well, I have Osteoarthritis, and Psoriatic Arthritis, amongst other things, I started to get little bumps on my finger digits, then my feet refuse to hold me up, My right knee, is now giving out with every step, and my left hip has now let me down, I was really embarrassed, I decided to visit a sick neighbour, and thought right this is a good a time as any, I started to walk around, then bang, my right knee went and so did my left hip, I was good and stuck, I tried to take a gingerly step, but my knee refused, so here's me stuck holding onto the wall, not able to move, nobody else was around either, My husband had gone to the store, I thought OMG I need to move, I inched my way along that damn wall, I was in agony, but I managed to do it, crying with the pain, I thought there has to be something better than this? I still had the Surgeon's words ringing in my ears, we will not do any operation, If I see 1 plaque, or 1 scratch I will send you home, So there is no help from that end, I am having a Phoner call with my GP Monday, and will see my Rheumy next month, I felt so embarrassed to ask for a Scooter, My daughter bought me one, So at least I can go visit my neighbour when I want to. I am at a very low ebb, My self-esteem has gone along with my confidence, Has anyone got any ideas, I know I need help but how to get it.

Why would your surgeon deny surgery for plaque? I don't get it? I have suffered from arthritis since 18 and was finally diagnosed years later with psoriatic arthritis, I have had really bad flares for years but since taking humira my life it's so much better. It's very expensive but my drug plan covers it... Thank God! However when I had really bad knees.. Orthotics helped immensley and when my docs could figure out my thigh/hip pain I went to a chiropractor it was tough because very painful but I can now sit cross legged which I couldn't for many years and I don't have the bone throbbing which had been there for many year's now..I was always against going and afraid but I'm telling you makes a world of difference after just a few sessions, it actually wasn't painful at all like I thought it would be. As far as my knees went I would get cortisone injection to relieve the pain and swelling. I do take humira and my did knows I will inject regularly for months and then spread out my doses so I'm comfortable no real flares when it gets bad I go back to twice a month and it actually really works for me anyways. Hope you find some resolution soon 🤗
Hi, Bee, I went to the Surgeon for replacing knee, He told Me I am an infection Risk, I said to him explain that please, He told me that if he sees just one blister bubble on my hands or feet, he will send me home, The Psoriasis I have is Rare, The Psoriatic Arthritis is rare, and It can go into open wounds and It can cause so much damage I could lose my Right leg now I don't mind if I do lose my leg, I am sick to death of the pain in my joints none of which has the same chance as you to try new drugs, I was offered the same drugs 20 years ago it did not work then it will have no effect now, I did have hand surgery this year and they are right the Psoriasis blisters went into that op it took a long time to heal,
