Decided to have a quiet week this week after the previous.

Monday was my annual Hba1c test. Came out from 37 to 36. I am surprisingly relieved with this after my efforts and cheating over the year. It convinces me to try harder next year.

Local swimming pool closed for repair work. So we have to make do with the training pool which is shallow and both ends as well as the middle. Too much foot scraping so gave up after 10 lengths. Still, great time had.

With Christmas approaching, we have many parades in the town so after swim and change had a lovely time watching the schools in the parade of lights then a wander around the open-air market. Pork Pies and Fudge for Christmas.

For Christmas bought myself some new gloves and hankies. May sound odd but I have never been one to overdo personal shopping and I now I show gratitude for what I do have.

My current gloves are those big ones covered in suede patches and a bit bulky. After many years, I have just three hankies left that are nearly worn transparent. I saw this really nice box of ten blue hankies and thought both would be a nice Chrismas present for myself. So in due course, they will both be wrapped and hidden away for Chrismas day.

With my three old hankies is a plain white one I save for important events. It was given to me by mum and every time I take a hankey I see this and think of the gift and mum.

My, that was a very productive week Greyone and you said you wanted a quiet week!

Glad you were pleased with your results.

Swimming too, well you put me to shame I must say and that walk around the open air market with my favourite pork pies, oh how I love them!

I have to say at this point, I'm feeling envious.

That's a lovely idea to buy yourself a gift, just don't forget where you hide them

Afraid yet another quiet weekend for me but had ab unexpected call from my sister after 3months, now there's a saga!
