For the past few days I've been really itchy with a rash and skin painful to touch. Any ideas?

I recently used calendula on my face for an awful itchy rash. It helped.

Have you looked at your medication(s) do any cause this kind of reaction, could it be heat related, if it does not clear maybe go to the pharmacy or GP, maybe a antihistamine or try using a salve, aloe vera might take some heat and itch out of this for you.

Hope it improves soon.

I use peppermint oil (AROUND THE ITCHY AREA, NOT ON IT) and a cold compress. It is amazing if the cold makes it feel better for you.

Thanks all but itch is all over. No change in meds. Have Been taking antihistamine but not doing anything. I have a folliculitis type rash on my chest. Only thing I can think is because my steroids have stopped. Or maybe my liver function is a bit wonky.

I use avene xeracalm ad, it’s a sterile lotion for atrophic-prone skin, also cold compressed and if I’m really desperate xylocaine jelly.

I had a similar rash out of the blue for several days. I’m also on steroids. It was really itchy, no idea what it was about!

Julie, I feel for you. I have a similar situation and now don’t laugh, I use barrier cream (diaper rash cream) takes the itch out and it’s safe for your skin. My doctor also prescribed hydroxyzine - it’s a stronger antihistamine type drug (it will make you drowsy), but I’d rather be sleeping than scratching. Hope everything works out for you.
