I dread summer
Yes, I am very sensitive to sunlight. Even indirect sunlight can make my face feel like it is burning.
It`s a pain isn`t I get blisters even through glass so have to be very careful.I`m on exstremly high vitamin D tablets as my count was only 3,you could say non exisitantHave not been diagnosed yet I`m waiting for the appointment at the London hospital, been trying to tell myself I don`t have it but have a mouthful of ulcers and one down below.xx
Oops, you are so much more sensitive to the sun than I am!. So sorry to hear of your blisters. I once had them, but I could say I deserved it because I went sunbathing (one and only one time!). I could enjoy being under the sun in my younger years. I had the blisters when I was 19. Thereafter, I became increasingly photosensitive.
Wishing you a correct diagnosis. Being told that we have this or that disease may not be a cause of happiness, but it at least points us towards the appropriate medical care.
Cheers and best wishes
I have recently been diagnosed with Bechets, but have suffered from a condition called Polymoriphic Light Eruption ever since I can remember, whenever I go away on holiday during the summer I come out in a really painful rash. It usually starts on my toes and fingers and then spreads up my shins/arms but also if it is extremely powerful it also can spread all across my chest. Steroid cream over night usually helps slightly as well as taking some prednisalone. I had not made the connection between the bechets and this until now. I am in the process of being referred to the London Bechets clinic so I will bring this up with them when I see them and ask if it is connected. It is such a painful rash, it ruins most of my holidays I go on.
This post is very timely...
Is it possible that it's a medication side effect?
I had my first big flare of Behcet's in 2004, though it wasn't diagnosed until 2007, but just recently - only the last six months - I have become extremely sensitive to the sun. I can't go out at all during the day, and even the sun through the house window is unbearable. (I live in Australia so we do have a lot of sun!).
I have a patchy rash on my neck and chest, which goes down further than the neckline of my clothes. It usually just burns, but when I have spent too much time in the sun (in the car driving to the city), it does get itchy, and when I scratch it burns!
I initially thought it might be a side effect of plaquenil (as it is mentioned as a side effect), so I stopped taking it six weeks ago. The photosensitivity hasn't got any better.....

Yes😞 20 min in the sun exposed skin breaks out in leassions/sores, my headache tamps up and the whole flare up begins. Heat in general is horrid. My leggs and arms swell like crazy. I feel like i need to move to the North Pole or Greenland. So hats, longs sleeves and I just ordered a Veskimo cooling vest to keep my body temp down.
Hope you can some what of a pleasant summer xo

I have found that since I have been on colchicine I burn more easily and the burns take a very long time to heal.
If you are taking Azathiprin you have to be extremely careful of the sun at all times. I agree I burn easily on Colchicine too.
