Hi all I started anti TFN last Monday and have picked up a nasty bug , yesterday I couldn't leave my bed today I'm up but still can't move far and have a temp and fever , it's a bug going through my house , should I be extra worried about my body fighting this bug off ?

Hi there...I get the sweats with my Infliximab Infusion and it leaves me a bit wiped out for a few days to a week after. Given that you have just started on TFN I wouldn't say that your immune system was so low to be dangerous and it maybe the combination of the 2 that's making you feel so rough. Hopefully after a few days or so you might feel more on top of things.

It may take longer to get over the bug if you have caught it....also maybe prone to secondary infections.

If it does become too unbearable you may need to see your Doctor or contact your specialist responsible for your medication.

Hope this helps and you start feeling better soon.

Not much to add to comments of Billi and Andrea - except to suggest reading through the medical literature that comes with your specific tnf blocker, and see if what you are experiencing is considered "normal reaction" to it.

Our physical reactions could also be significantly different. I have been on Humira and have not experienced temp and fever because of it.

Take care and get well
