Setraline: HELP!! I have recently been prescribed... - BASHH
Setraline
Hi Dolly I lost my sister very suddenly on 3rd December 2022! My Father and my youngest brother notified me of her death early Sunday morning!
Completely shocked and crying I still went to work! My Head Chef send me home at lunchtime to be with my daughter and family!
In January we put my sister to rest! Her funeral was very beautiful Dolly!
Last year 2023 was a difficult time for me but kind of managed until my retirement July 2023!
Then it hit me hard 🙏👍
I finally had time to grieve Dolly 👌
Listen carefully please ✔️
There is nothing wrong with taking Sertraline okay! Please take it 👌 and I found it's best in the evening!
Stop worrying about putting weight on 👍
You are still grieving and nobody who loves their family can cope with a sudden death!
Especially when it's our Mum or Dad Dolly!
Please take heart my love you are not alone! 🫂 Grieve and remember your Dad and all the memories you made together 🌹💜
I get the impression you are run down and maybe you haven't been eating properly!
If you can eat healthily, enjoy the fresh air, listen to the birds, phone family or friends! Don't isolate yourself!
I know it's hard and we will miss our loved ones as long as we live!
So take the Sertraline for a while to help you over this difficult time for you Okay!
It will ease with time but it will take time 🌹💜
Sending you Hugs and my deepest condolences to you and your family Dolly 🙏🫂🌹💜🌹💜 God bless you 🙏
Dolly my son takes Sertaline and he has had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. It’s just calmed his thoughts down a little and makes him less anxious. SNOWDROPS 17 is right you are grieving. It will take as long as it takes you can’t suddenly make it better or think you should be over it. There will be ups and downs and you’ll find yourself in shock being sad and angry in denial all sorts of feelings, things will just get a little easier to bear. And you still have ALL of your wonderful memories of him they will be with you forever. Sending a cuddle your way x
Good morning 🌞 Yes I went through these different phases of grieving for my sister last year!
Actually not working at all magnified my Grief! But it also helped me to come to accept her death!
My Mum died as well suddenly Christmas Eve 2000, I went through the same but it took me so much longer! Parents know you from the time you are born, especially Mums! Losing loved family very suddenly always leaves an impact on your own life!
But because of Jesus I will see them again and that gives me strength to keep on living! 🙏
Hi Dolly,
I’m so sorry for your loss first of all.
I will be honest about my experiences with Sertraline - initially when I first started taking it, I felt exhausted for the first week or two. I also felt very dizzy for the first few days. These side effects are completely worth it though. I felt very skeptical and kept putting off taking it, but once your body adjusts it is better.
Regarding weight gain, try not to worry about that. It is a common side effect, and I have noticed some weight gain on myself too which can obviously have a negative effect on your mental health and make you feel like taking sertraline isn’t worth it, but it has undoubtedly helped me. I won’t lie and say all of my symptoms of anxiety and depression have gone, I have good days and very bad days. On the whole, it has levelled me out and the slightly more inconvenient side effects are worth it.
How are you feeling since starting to take it?
