repeated thrush

Hello everyone, I have been fighting vaginal thrush for nearly 7 years. A few courses of Fluconazole 6 months each, didn’t work, all swabs confirm thrush BUT lab is not capable of confirming which candida it is etc. I also have suspision it could be lactobacillus.. basically I am going in circles and between fluconazole, pessaries.. soo soo fee up! My symptoms are itching and red/sore vagina, no discharge as such. I feel GP doesn’t want know what to do… Any advice? Thank you

hi, same situation! Have you tried boric acid pessaries?

hi yes, but no improvement! The thing is I am really not sure what I have as none of the antifungal treatments work🤷‍♀️

I don’t know what age you are but have you thought of the possibility that your symptoms could be a low level of oestrogen. I thought I had thrush but in fact this was the problem. You can use a gel for it.

hello, I am 39, 2 kids (4,6). I asked my GP to give me pills as my symptoms always got worse around ovulation, now on pills, much worse, itchy all the time🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️I just want to cry as I feel my GP doesn’t know what to do (and not interested anymore, I have cronic thrush according to her). I am going to see a private gynecologists soon. I just feel I have some skin condition around vagina, but the strange thing is, all swabs have shown thrush but never ever in detail what type of candida, etc. I also read lactobacillus look same in lab test🤷‍♀️

I use Blissel 50 micro grams/g vaginal gel. You have to have it prescribed by a doctor. I hope this helps.

Hi. Was just reading old posts. Can I ask if you got rid of the thrush? I have had it for 6 months and nothing gets rid of it. The swabs just say over growth of yeast but arnt specific. The gp offers nothing other than fluconazole. I’m so upset and frustrated!

i am same there saying thrush on my skin on bum. Hurts to sit. God knows what's happening to me. 1st they said vestibule vulvodynia on ovestin which burns

Thrush is PH imbalance, diet and beverage changes and just keep monitoring
