I went to the hospital as i had testicle pain. I was scared i had an STI of some sort. I got an examination and urine test from the doctor when i was there. The examination came back ok and the urine sample came back with no issues. Is it safe to say i dont have Chlamidya?

I went to hospital i had been examined twice and told i was ok and told to come back the next day for ultrasound and then given the all clear, the doctors told me my urine sample came back clear also. They said i had nothing wrong with me and told me to leave and not to worry about the pain. They had given me antibiotics the day night i got examined just incase i had an infection (octfloxin). Then when i went for my ultrasound, then told me i was good to go, and told me to just bin the antibotics as i wouldnt need them anymore.

Glad you got sorted!

Yes, I think so. They would have detected an infection in your urine and told you if you had chlamydia. You can always call the doctor and ask them to review the file. Explain to them your concern and they will let you know definitively.

Sounds like you are in the clear to me

It is pretty simple. If the urine sample was specifically tested for chlamydia, and longer than 7 days from the last sexual event, then I would be reassured. If the urine sample was tested for urinary pathogens only ( MSSU ) then this does NOT exclude chlamydia . Ofloxacin would treat chlamydia - but if you have a regular partner, and they are untested, you would simply reacquire the infection again. I am guessing your profile name includes your age, in which case you are in the prime age group for chlamydia ,15-24 , and in the UK and most countries, chlamydia affects 1 in 10 people in your age group.

I was given the all clear and told there was nothing wrong with me and that i should throw the antibiotics away. Surely that would indicate no problems?

You need to re-read my reply. You asked in your initial post , can you exclude chlamydia. I replied yes, IF the test taken was for chlamydia and NOT an MSSU only. This is the only way to exclude chlamydia , on a urine NAAT test. Unfortunately urologists often forget to screen for chlamydia on young men presenting with testicular pain. So if you want to be 100% sure you dont have chlamydia either ask the doc did you have a chlamydia test, or do your own via a sexual health clinic or free online testing, if in the UK . And if you have a partner, get them screened also. if you did have chlamydia and took less than 7 days of oflaxacin, you would not be treated adequately.

Thanks again. Im not sure what test they used, all they said was that they checked my urine for bacteria and all was fine.

I am concerned that was an MSSU to rule out a bacterial urinary tract infection ( UTI ). Unless you can establish it was checked for chlamydia , I would get a specific test done for it .
