Recurring thrush

I have recurring thrush after having an IUD fitted could there be a link?

I've heard there are u corroborated theories they are linked if it's with a short space of time of having the coil fitted but nothing conclusive. I would have it removed if its constantly coming back and if it is the coil they you will stop getting thrush. Have you talked to your gp about it?

I have, they’re not the greatest. Only just sent swabs off after treating it OTC 3 times myself since December, been to the GP twice about it but just advised usual treatment.

I’m hoping they requested the test to see if it’s fluconazole resistant but i don’t think they did 🤦🏻‍♀️

No known link for the IUD and candida, but for BV yes.

I would attend a sexual health clinic for more accurate testing

It’s definitely thrush rather than BV - no smells and the PH is normal. Just waiting for my swabs to come back

pH normal is a good marker for no BV I agree . I presume sti testing was also done ?
