Transmission Risk

I’ve had what I believe is a yeast infection for nearing four months now, I’ve not had sex since I developed it but it’s not responding to treatment and my last test came back normal for thrush. I’ve now been referred to a specialist.

I want to have sex but still believe I have thrush as I have the itching associated with it so if we use a condom correctly, is there any risk of transmission? Can thrush be passed on through contact or is it only sex?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Candida is not a sexually transmitted organism. Male partners can briefly develop a skin reaction in response. The first step is to define what the problem actually is, and a sexual health clinic assessment would be the best.

Thank you, I’m due to see a specialist in early January so hopefully they can figure out what’s causing my symptoms. Thanks for the advice.
