Switch from combined pill to progesterone only pill (POP)

I have just started taking the progesterone only pill (POP) - I switched from the combined pill. I took POP on the second day of my placebo day - I took 2 that day as I forgot to take POP the day after I took my last combined pill. Am I still protected on this switch? Or do I need to seek the morning after pill. I'm aware that when normally taking the combined pill you are covered during the placebo week break but unsure if I'll be protected by switching over to POP during this time.

I would probably try and get an emergency contraception (morning after pill) when I was 15 I had the same thing, I was in the process of switching my pills and I got caught in the switch.

I hope this helped :)

You should be covered. in the placebo or pill free week you should not be ovulating, and you have already switched over to the POP during this time.

Well technically you should be covered but there's no 100% guarantee. The protection from your combination pill usually carry on 2-3 days depending on your age and how long you have been on the combination pill. Also, if you haven't had sex during that time, around 72-90 hours duration across the day concerned, then there's definitely negligible chance to fall pregnant. They say to start right on the next day after your last combined pill. Considering that you did took the 2 pills on the second which is what mentioned in guidelines to manage missed dosage... so maybe the emergency contraception might not be needed. Taking an emergency contraceptive which is again combination pill will put your cycle in a wacko whether or not there's much risk of pregnancy or not. However, inspite of all the possibilities suggesting it's hard that you could be pregnant you never know. In fact, as you must be knowing no contraceptive methods are 100%. Take a test around 14-15 days from the messed up dose than just bestowing on assumptions would be my suggestion.
