If I have changed from the combined pill to the mini pill, how long should I wait to take my first mini pill should I take it during my period as I would like my periods to be regular also how long does it take till the pill is in my system and will work as an effective contraceptive?

You can switch one day to the next and you should be covered straight away. It will work effectively so long as you take it daily, and within 12 hours for cerazette and similar pills , 3 hours for older POPs.
