Anyone else like this??

Is anyone else with hsv1 like this? I know everyone is different with their outbreaks, but I haven’t had one since my first initial outbreak. I still have no clue how I got it and my ex got tested and his came back negative but I’m still positive he has it, just doesn’t have any symptoms. My OBGYN has seen me and checked up on me and she says it looks as if I don’t even have it which is good since I don’t need to take my medication unless I have to. Maybe I’m one of those people who only break out once or twice a year? What do you guys think.

Hi Cosita... There are people who do only get 1 or 2 outbreaks a year, like yourself, and those who have only ever had 1. Regardless of the number of outbreaks, once having caught the virus... the virus is there.... thats why some people are carriers, even though they don't know it. From what I've read and from my own experience, having a test doesn't always come back positive, even when a sore is present.

Im not sure what the question is ? If you are asking do you need to take anti viral meds when you don't have symptoms - the answer is no. If your partner had a blood test for HSV ( we don't usually do this in the UK ) that's the only way of knowing if they have ever been exposed to HSV in their lives . Your skin will look entirely normal in between outbreaks - if you have any
