Combined pill timings

I started my period today and so I started my new (combined) pill. I wanted to be able to take my pill at lunch time but my period started at around 7pm so I took my pill then. If I take my next pill at 1pm tomorrow and at 1pm everyday after, will I still be protected immediately? Or should I use extra protection? I normally do anyways but I wanted to know just in case.

Still use extra protection especially if you've only just started your pill. If you take the combined pill theres usually a certain timeframe you have to take your pill where it would be considered "on time" and this is usually a 3 hour space.

Use extra protection for 7 days regardless just to keep things safe :)

the three hour window applies to older progestogen only pills - with newer ones it is twelve hours. this lady is on the combined pill , so long as she remembers each day the timing is not crucial
