Hi Im 19 and I was diagnosed with hsv2 only last month, I got a call off the doctor while I was driving and I literally broke down in tears and didn’t know what to do! After speaking to him properly I realised that it wasn’t as bad as it sounded, no one speaks of it because the social stigma surrounding it! Dispute not being so worried about it I’m still left really confused.... I had similar pains back in August, I was in and out of hospital I couldn’t walk, couldn’t go to work for weeks. They ran loads and loads of tests and nothing ever came back about herpes just loads of other things, I was getting bloods done every month to keep an eye on me and not once did they mention herpes. I’ve started seeing someone thing with us started in Septemberish and it’s going well! Randomly out the blue early December I started getting all these pains again and sores started to come back it was really sore but this time I sort of powered on and still got out the house and got on with my day as much as I could without letting on to friend and the person I’m seeing I was in pain, only because I google what it could be! I was praying it wasn’t herpes but unfortunately the tests came back positive...my partner knew I was in pain so we didn’t sleep together he didn’t know as much me obviously, I told him and he took the news a lot better than I thought he would and we are still going strong! He’s been tested but he hasn’t really spoken about it to me. Now the sores have cleared up but I’m constantly scared that I’m going to have to another outbreak, on a night ill go to bed and down there is really irritated but only on a night, I’m not sure if it’s something in my head or if I’m about it have an outbreak. I’m just wondering if any other is experience a bit of soreness still a month after an outbreak. Also if I could have herpes since August and the doctors didn’t see it? I’m so confused?? If my current partner is the one with herpes (he’s says he’s never had anything before and he’s not got herpes or had an symptoms but he will get tested) and it’s lying dormant with no symptoms will it still show up on test results?? Sorry I have such a long story and so many questions!!!

SORRY FOR THE DETAIL.....Also I’m experiencing a lot of thick discharge, especially on a morning it not very nice it drys up AGAIN SORRY ITS NOT A NICE THING!!

Hi Unicorn 1213, the problem is that it doesn’t even matter anymore where u got it from. There is a high chance that the person who passed it to you didn’t knew themselves they’ve got it as well. People can live with this years without having any breakouts. Avoid exposing yourself to much to the sun/sunbeds, take warm bath with a lot of sea salt when having an outbreak. This will help with the pain . AND, remember to buy some L-Lysine 500g from natural pharmacy’s. This is amino acids that will help you A LOT not to have an outbreak that often. And if you having an outbreak L-Lysine will help it heal much more easier. Take a 500 g pill a day. When you ill or feel like getting it, take 2-3 pills a day. Good luck!

I was told hsv2 can’t be tested for unless there are symptoms, I.e they can swan tests a blister but the normal swab will not be able to test for it. I was also still sore for about a month after but I would defo suggest getting some lidocaine ointment from your dr or pharmacy as it numbs the sores which is great when they’re painful af!

I’m also 19 and was diagnosed about 6 months ago! It’s horrible at first but you do kind of forget about it sometimes, it took my a while to realise it’s not as bad as it seems when you first find out x
