Please help?

I was recently diagnosed with herpes and I'm taking it really badly. I've never had a proper boyfriend I just 'see' people here and there. I'm so scared and so disgusted with myself, how am I ever going to tell a sexual partner I have herpes?? Something I'm going to have for the rest of my life! Please help, I just need to know how you tell a sexual partner, someone who is not your actual boyfriend/girlfriend

I'm in somewhat similar position. I've had this conversation four times now and it's always gone well.

You need to be clear when you are going to have the conversation. I raise it for discussion before the clothes come off but when it's looking likely they will e.g. When they have come home with me.

Rehearse what you are going to say so you can deliver it smoothly

I start by saying "we should discuss a slightly awkward topic - STI's" Then I talk about regular screening and ask what they do. Only then do I say I had herpes and say what I think the implications are.

Girls have looked alarmed to start with but have appreciated the honest and responsible approach.
