Hey so I'm a little new to this. I'm16 and I've had recurring sores in my vagina for some time now and now it's itchy and dry too. I've been putting off telling a doctor but I'm finally going to do that. I'm not sexually active and after research I'm convinced it's a vaginal yeast infection. I just want to know if I've waited to long and let it turn to something worse.

Vagina problems
Hi... Well the good news is that as you are not sexually active then that narrows it down considerably. Firstly it depends where exactly the itching is and is there any kind of discharge. If there's any kind of discharge then you need to go to the doctor... ask to see a female if there is one at your surgery. Yeast can produce some kind of a discharge although very minor. If not... it could be something like using a soap/shower product which is irritating your skin. I find the dove range does exactly that for me. Also, if you get a bit sweaty... are you wearing synthetic fabrics, tight clothes ? Maybe look at changing your underwear to something with cotton gussets. Also sanitary products... or it could just be an allergy... even to what your underwear is washed in. I know it's embarrassing to discuss anything of that nature with your Doctor, so do go , if nothing else it will put your mind a rest.
take care
Sweetie, you won't know anything for sure till you,ve seen the doctor. It won't have turned into anything worse if your not sexually active. You poor thing, it must have worried you sick. As well as being very uncomfortable. When you make your appointment if your asked what it is. Just say private. You may feel better asking for a woman doc. Go soon love, to put your mind at rest and get it sorted. All will be well. Good wishes.x
