Morning.

First of all make sure you are drinking plenty of water to lessen the irritation.

Do you have any lower back pain or blood in your urine? If you do then you have an infection and MUST go to the doctors or walk in center as you will most likely need antibiotics. Get a sample bottle (aprox £1) from the Pharmacy and take a sample with you so it can be tested straight away.

If you don't have the symptoms above then your local supermarket or Pharmacy will sell cystitis relief sachets. The dose is one sachet three times a day for two days. If that doesn't clear the irritation then again you need to see the doctor as it may be an infection.

If you have high blood pressure then as for the sachets containing sodium potassanate rather than sodium citrate.

Xx

Hi

All of what johnart85 says, except that I would collect sample bottles for free from my surgery. You can usually just drop named samples in for them to test and call you back if treatment is required.

Otherwise the cystitis sachets work quite well - but drink lots of plain water in between too . Avoid acidic/ spicy food/drink - avoid soaps/gels/bubblebaths and avoid thong style undies.

GP unlikely to suggest anything more unless there is infection treatable with antibiotics. Could get a phone appointment with them or nurse ? Alternatively ask pharmacist

Hope it gets better soon

I agree with everything that's been said.

Get a sample bottle from your GP reception, get it back there ASAP. Explain that it's query UTI.

I find it unreasonable that your GP surgery hasn't got an emergency appointment for you though. Did you ask for an emergency appointment? If you're in so much pain too.

Plenty of water, weak squash if you don't like water. Regular paracetamol too may help ease pain a little.

Best wishes 💗

Could be herpes get in a salt bath should begin to clear and ease pain.

Have you had unprotected sex recently? Food poisoning?

Highly unlikely to be herpes! Far more likely - as you know your body - to be cystitis.

There are - in UK - treatments for cystitis at the pharmacy. These now include an antibiotic if you are female. [Trimethiprin from memory]

It's not highly unlikely to be herpes. Doctors can't even diagnose properly half the time takes about 2-3 visits if u haven't had a really bad outbreak...

From those symptoms deffo something worth checking better to be safe than sorry and spreading...
