I've just been asked to pay £50 for a (luckily successful) sexual health test report! (Bolton Hospital)

Is this normal?

That's not bad in Hong Kong we don't receive financial doctor support so all my medical bills are shockingly high. Good that's it's clear though

If you are in UK and "Bolton Hospital" is an NHS hospital then that is very odd!

The NHS is "free at the point of delivery". STI tests are usually free to encourage those at risk to get tested.

Hi Simon,

As you say, the test was free.

But the typed report (all two lines of it) cost £50.00.

When I picked it up I mentioned that there was no charge shown on the NHS website. They said that a written report has always been £50.00.

Cheers,

John

No. Not if done via NHS.
