Hello ladies, my miracle daughter arrived on Friday 30th July and failed two hearing screening tests performed the day after on Saturday and today again on Tuesday.
She was born via c section and I understand that this problem is quite common in babies born that way due to fluid in their drums.
We have now been referred to see an audiologist for diagnostics and I’m scared to death that she could have some issues.
Did this happen to anyone and the baby was fine?
Thank you ❤️

First, congratulations!! Hope you're recovering well. I haven't been through this, just wanted to send you big hugs. You're on the steepest learning curve of your life and everything is so overwhelming, this worry on top of everything else must seem like too much.Fingers crossed everything is fine at your next appointment, but in the meantime just snuggle your little miracle and enjoy having her in your arms - there's nothing you can do until you know for sure whether she has some problems so don't let the worry take away your joy that she's finally here xxx
Thank you so much! You’re absolutely right and I couldn’t be more in love with her no matter what! I just feel so emotional right now that everything seems to be getting to me 🙈thank you again xxx
Hi, not had this myself but when my wee boy was born the person carrying out the test was telling me just how frequently babies don’t pass the early tests. She actually started by telling me I wasn’t to worry if the baby didn’t pass as the tests are so sensitive that and the babies are so new.
My best friends wee boy failed the first 2 tests and by the time she got the audiology appointment he was 8’months and it was very clear that his hearing was perfect.
Aw ToughCOOKIE78 I just wanted to say a HUGE congratulations! I can imagine it’s a worrying time but please don’t be too downhearted. It could all be ok soon. I hope your little one’s hearing will be sorted and you get some answers. X
Congrats dear, this happened with my little one too. His hearing is now normal at little over seven weeks! I was concerned when he failed numerous hearing tests ( hearingsolutions.ca/locatio... ) before succeeding. The woman who performed the test told me that it's typical for them to fail at first owing to fluid in the ears, and that this is especially true for c-section babies. They just retest the baby when he or she is a little older, and the baby usually passes the tests. Hope your little miracle recovers soon!🥰
Hello just wanted to send some love.... try to hang in there... there are so many support options for deafness now. She will excel at lots of things now you have the diagnosis xxxxx
