Hi need little info about bcg vaccine

My son had in the 13 th May

Day before yesterday the site was a bit red and bump

And today it looked blind it had hit puss in it .

Any experiences

I already booked to see gp tomorrow though

Hello! Don’t worry this is normal. It will look horrible and puss and maybe pop and then do it all over again a few times before it properly heals. It’s gross but just clear the puss with cotton wool and cooled boiled water to stop it getting on clothes etc.

Yeah, it's pretty ugly isn't it!! You don't have to do anything, that's what it's supposed to look like, leave it alone and it will heal itself in a little while xxx

Yeah, it looked like that at first, but it healed nicely and it's just a tiny mark now xxx

hmm, it's hard to remember now. She had the vaccination when she was about 15 days old. Maybe a couple of weeks with pus like that, then it stayed as a red bump like an insect bite or spot for ages but now she's almost 11 months and it's just a light scar

I dint know the drs said it might heal or it night keep popping and healing for quite sometime . It might take up-to 2-3 months for it to heal completely
