Court of Protection

I am in the process of applying for Court of Protection Housing & Finance for my son.

He is 34 does not have capacity.

The solicitor has advised not to apply for Health and Welfare and says we will be wasting our money and that we will be turned down.

Does anyone have any experience on this.

I have tried to read through the application myself but found it too stressful hence going to a solicitor today.

Hi Lucacielle,

I'm not familiar with the situation myself, but I'd suggest having a chat with someone at Citizen's Advice - They might be able to help with making the application clear? citizensadvice.org.uk/famil...

Hi Lucacielle,As well as Citizens Advice, see if there is a dedicated disability services in your area, the one here was really helpful for one of my daughter's applications, or even SENDIAS as they can sometimes signpost.
