What support would you recommend for a 40+ yr old recently diagnosed person with autism?

Hi Tanimot360,
Nice to meet you
Navigating a new diagnosis is always an interesting time. I myself was diagnosed as an adult in 2017.
It all depends on the sort of support you're looking for. Whether it be a group of like-minded neurodivergent people to share experiences with or support with day to day needs etc. It can also depend on what is local to you.
I would reccomend the National Autistic Society website, as they have a range of resources.
They have an Autism Services Directory that can help pin point local services, depending on where you are. autism.org.uk/directory
"The Directory helps autistic people, their families and the professionals who work with them to find local and national services. It includes residential, supported living and respite, employment support, diagnostic, schools and nurseries, social groups and leisure activities, solicitors and advocacy organisations."
They also have a number of branches across the country - autism.org.uk/what-we-do/br...
You could also ask your GP about services and groups local to you that offer support for Autistic Adults. (a lot of stuff tends to be geared towards children, so you have to emphasise the adult bit).
And of course, there are a large number of Facebook groups created by and for autistic individuals who share their day to day experiences.
I hope this can help a bit
All the very best!
Adult Social Care Assessment should be able to help with this. Ask Gp for a Referal & Is this person's Living Accommodation right for them, do they need a Carer. All these things can be sorted through Gp Referals. Take proof of ASD ( Autism Spectrum Disorder) Benefits if Daily Living is compromised then Apply for PIP, or ask C.A.B. usually you can talk all this through with Social Care Worker, they can answer questions.
