Brainstorming Post for Sensory Overload!

I really wanted to do this for myself and ask for ideas, but thought that it might help others too.

How do you cope practically with the sensory world?

Visual - sitting away from window and not under lights, or pulling down blind and having lights off. Glasses to dull.

Auditory - plastic cutlery so noise doesnt disturb and affect eating. Noise cancelling headphones. Silent vacuum cleaner.

Tactile - putting plaster over labels so not itchy. Choosing clothing based on comfort. Selecting washing liquid.

Smell - non scented cleaning products. Bracelets you can put essential oils on.

Vestibular - rocking chair, swing, hammock, rowing.

Does anyone have any ideas for coping with cooking smells and the noise of kitchen appliances?

These are the ones that affect me personally, but does anyone have any ideas for these or for others?
