Through trial and error I seem to be ok getting off to sleep. But no matter how much sleep I have, I always feel so unrefreshed and tired in the mornings! I am working on trying to improve my diet and exercising. Aside from these, is there anything anyone could recommend to help with quality of sleep? Any supplements? I’ve tried a few but it gets so overwhelming researching this kind of thing, and gets expensive too...

Quality of sleep - any advice?
It’s definitely expensive. I think as adhd’er we have a complex mind to over think that starts when we are about to go to sleep. I’m on ambien and others. It’s such a task to go to sleep
Best thing ive found is Real proper heavy duty cotton sheets and pillow cases sleep nice
Hello Dodecahedr0n
Quality of sleep is a double edged sword that needs your mental wellbeing and enough rest to work its magic... a regular sleeping pattern is key to this as well, ensuring that the room in which you sleep is dark enough to stop your brain being tricked into thinking its dawn and keeping you out of rem sleep is an easy one to sort out, making sure you do not have a tv on in an unlit room an hour before bedtime is another one and also sleep in blocks of 4 hours as your brain goes through a detox cycle during sleep and waking when your brain is flooded with chemicals designed to keep it tip top will leave you feeling groggy if you wake up in the middle of one... if you can get 8 hours solid, that's a good thing and if you cannot, sleep for 4 hours instead or 6 and you will feel more alert .... drink a pint of water when you first wake up instead of coffee and that will have the same wakey wakey effect and speaking of coffee.... if you drink it, make sure you have at least 4 hours between the last cup and bedtime so you can count sheep sooner...... breathing the right way helps you to nod off sooner as you can breathe in through your nose and out your mouth (just like when you are asleep) if you are serious about shutting you mind down before bedtime, put the tv away and practice methods to quieten your thoughts.... it took me 3 years to discover I did not need 3 years to learn how to safely and effectively wind down before slumber time :^)
Mind state and breathing technique was the answer all along
These are the obvious ones to try out and cost nothing to try...... :^)
I would suggest that you go to your doctor. It could just be autism but you might need Magnesium (which helps with sleep) or you might have sleep apnea which potentially dangerous
