Hitting tics

Hiya.. how do I stop myself from having hitting tics? I randomly try to hit my 13 year old shihztu when I'm angry and I don't know why. Is it apart of autism or am I having a different tic with another problem with me?

Hello 👋 have you tried to squeeze something to prevent that tic from happening . Also do you get a premonitory urge to do it ?

I don't mean to! It just randomly happens. I don't get the time to grab something because if she's next to me I'll hit her not hard but like enough to make her bite me

Do you feel like your about to sneeze or have a itch before doing it ? . I understand you dont mean to ☺️ my friend has Tourette’s syndrome so I understand

Yes I feel it coming but it's almost instantly. And it's been happening for about 3 months

You probably should if it is bothering you . The doctor can give you medicine that can help reduce your tics or tic

How long has this been happening?

Hi there. You probably know that Tourette's Syndrome has a higher rate in population of people with Autism than in an equivalent number of those without Autism. Maybe you have missed that diagnosis? Maybe you have other tics? You mentioned this hitting has only happened in past 3 months, so has there been a change in circumstances for you or other reason for increased stress and tension which can trigger tics in people with or without Tourette's?
