Driving licence codes

I thought my new licence was for entitlement to drive either a manual or automatic car even though I had sat a practicle driving assessment using 'converted hand controls and assisted steering' at an NHS driving assessment centre. I thought this because there was nothing stating this in words on my licence.

I only found out today that the restrictions on my licence are marked by code numbers on the back of my plastic photograph licence. Just by chance I looked up what these codes meant online where I discovered that my licence is indeed restricted to automatic transmission vehicles with the relevent adaptions.

Just thought I would share this info in case anyone else wonders what the code numbers mean printed on their licences. Try these tag links if you like:
