Hello my friends, if I may address you as such…….I was diagnosed with Ataxia by my Neurologist in Febuary this year, although I’ve had the symptoms for as long as I can remember, but he didn’t say which Ataxia it is?
my elder Brother told me recently, when I was born, I had body tremors, and looked like a skinned rabbit…….. to my knowledge, no other member of my family had Ataxia, and I was the youngest son of seven sons.
I have to use furniture, walls and doorframes to get around indoors, and it doesn’t help having Dropped Foot Syndrome.
My local council recently asked me if I still needed the Disability Parkin bay outside my house, and will my condition improve?? What don’t they understand when I tell them there’s no cure, and Ataix will only get worse.
I apologise for a long post.

Hi Don, Isn't it anger-making when these idiots ask silly questions like that. In any case, I believe that even if you weren't disabled, outside your house you should have a parking bay. When are they going to cut the c**p and give elderly people their dues? I'm happy to say that today I got the good news that I have been awarded blue badges. It's a Saturday so I can't pay for it today and get that bit out of the way. I have to wait until Monday when I have plenty of other things to do.
When they come to renew them I'll be five years older and while the latest wedge fracture may have healed, I might well have had another one by then. If not follow in my cousin's footsteps and have a crumbling spine. The only end to pain is well . . .
