Has anybody else had falls for the same reason I had?
After knowing that automatic movements that were easy before the Ataxia, cannot be done easily anymore, I am careful.
But every now and then I do it anyway, without thinking, and fall.

Hello yes and i ve started topling over ..luckily thé other day i was near à tree so pulled myself up ..i m usualy very careful but like you i forget ..i had 2 nasty falls in septembre i ended up at thé hospital ..i realy have to be extra careful cause i ve 2 hip replacement ..if i do any more luxation it will mean to replace thé hip replacement and in hospital for 3 weeks ..so that must nt happen ..keep safe and be care full .
yes, I have had so many calls even walking with my walker I usually fall backwards and hit my head helpers then insist on calling the hospital I’ve also fallen down several steps onto a carpark One small tip holding on to rail go down backwards, it certainly helps. Good luck in the future.
I totally avoid stairs, just way too hard. I won't have a fall for sometime and think wow, I haven't fallen for awhile and then boom, down I go. In next week to repair a hip fracture I've been living with for over a year. Not sure the repair will work, but hopefully? Remember to take things slooooow.
A lot of falls are related to foot drop. Your brain thinks you are walking correctly.
The toes end up dragging and you fall.
Orthotics will assist with foot drop
Yes, forget I have to be careful, turn my head whilst moving and oops!
