I haven't been to Sheffield but have had many neurology appointments.
The best advise I was given was to make a list of questions/symptoms you want to discuss.
I make two copies and hand one over and keep the other. It is easy to forget things. Passing the list over can save time and energy.
It is too easy to forget.
I hope your appointment goes well.
🙂 Not knowing what to expect can be a bit daunting..but this link gives helpful advice
Preparing for your Appointment with a Neurologist
I've read responses already posted. The only thing to add is, take something to read. Good luck x
Hi mate
The list of things you need to know and discuss is good advice. If you have a question push for a answer if you need to, nothing wrong with being a bit pushy it’s your health and your life.
Remember you only see these people every time aliens land in Newcastle so make the best of your time.
Good luck mate and let us know how you get on 👍🏻
Good luck I’ve my first appointment with neurologist on 30/3 so I’ve found your replies very helpful too. Let us know how you get on 🍀
Hello all and thank you for all your replies and suggestions I will endeavor to be polite while trying to squeeze answers for the many questions I have but as Paul said it’s my life and I really need someone to step up and giving me and my wife & family answers to our questions that we can actually believe. See I already have a neurology team which I have been seeing for 4 years because of a headache syndrome I have called SUNCT but eventually Found out it was caused by a lesion in my CPA. Apparently ataxia isn’t this neurologists bag so off to see the specialists. I’m hoping for better seeing as I’d had this lesion for 7 year’s which shown up on previous scans but nobody told me then with symptoms getting worse that nobody understood 🤨 fingers crossed then.
I’ll keep you posted and thanks everyone.
