Has anybody been prescribed Carbamazepine for the above? I’ve been taking baclofeon but it doesn’t seem to be helping in the slightest, so my neurologist has changed it to the above, but after looking online I can’t see anything about it connected to muscle cramps etc, just epilepsy & nerve pain-which I’m already th ex highest dose of pregablin for that & was also in amitriptlin(prescribed by GP)as a top up to it, but he took me off the amatriptlin & gave me the baclofeon as it wasn’t nerve pain I was having problems with but the muscles, I’m in constant pain 24/7 with my muscles & hardly sleeping as they’re continuously locking which makes me scream out in agony as I can’t move that joint-normally my legs & groin. Just wondering if any one else had taken Carbamazepine & if it had worked for them?
Many thanks in advance

🤔 I’ve been prescribed Carbamazaphine, and Carbamazaphine Retard (slow release), because I’d previously been misdiagnosed with Epilepsy.
I’d notified my Neurologist at the onset of eye problems, but she dismissed my concerns, and I went on to have chronic eye problem due to Iritis.
It’s likely this won’t happen to everyone, side effects are noted but hopefully rare, and it is known that certain medications have the ability to give good results for several conditions. If your symptoms are particularly challenging, and you’ve exhausted all other possibilities, maybe accept the Neurologists advice...If it doesn’t give good results after a trial period, it can always be withdrawn.
I’m about to start them but was just a little nervous as I couldn’t find anything that connected them to each other. I do have total faith in my neurologist, I’ve been seeing him for 9 years. Unfortunately due to the lockdown the appointment was over the phone, which isn’t the same face to face & there’s so many things I’d forgotten to ask him, this question included, I fo normally write my questions down & take them to appointments but this one was a last minute appointment so forgot to do that as well🙄🤦🏻♀️ yes I’ll certain give them a try & see what happens 😊
